Merrijig Drive and Fischer St closures

Route 53 and school bus detours – Monday 23/2 to Thursday 2/4

Due to road safety upgrades, there will be closures at the intersection of Merrijig Drive and Fischer St from Mon 23rd Feb to Thursday 2nd April, 2026.

Merrijig Drive will be closed in both directions from Yallock Cct to Manuka St.

Fischer St will be closed north bound only from Centreside Drive roundabout to Yirn Ave.   Southbound traffic can travel as normal through this section of Fischer St.

OUTBOUND ROUTE 53 will travel via Merrijig Dr and detour left at Yallock Cct, Right Yirn Ave, Left Yallock Cct, Right Wiyn Ave and Right Fischer St and continue as normal. A temporary bus stop will be located in Yallock Cct as per the blue bus below.

INBOUND ROUTE 53 will detour via Left Centreside Drive, Right Scott Ave, Left Merrijig Dr, and Right to Surf Coas Hwy and continue route as normal.  A temporary stop will be located in Scott Ave as shown by the blue bus.

Centreside Drive remains open for east-west travel.

School bus detours will be managed as required.
