GEELONG ROAD and HITCHCOCK AVE INTERSECTION CLOSURE FOR ROUNDABOUT CONSTRUCTION

Route 55 and School Bus diversion from Tuesday 29/4/25 until approximately start of June 2025.

A section of Geelong Rd, from Sheepwash Rd to Carr St will be closed in order for a roundabout construction project at the intersection of Geelong Rd and Hitchcock Ave during the above period.

During the road closure, buses will divert in a clockwise direction (as with previous Geelong Rd detours in 2024), via Sheepwash Rd, Right River, Right Carr St, Right Taits Rd, Left Sheepwash Rd as shown by the blue line in the map below.

A temporary bus stop will be located at 112 Carr St as shown by the purple bus.

The following bus stops will not be serviced during the road closure and are marked with an X on the map below.

  • Taits Rd/Carr St
  • Knox Dr/Carr St
  • Seaview Ave/Geelong Rd
  • Barwon Heads Village Park/Geelong Rd
  • Wattlebird Cres/Taits Rd
