Bus Safety Week 2026
Bus safety week runs from 16 to 22 March and recognises the vital role bus drivers play in keeping our communities moving safely.
Every day, thousands of passengers rely on drivers to get them to work, school, appointments and home safely. It’s a role that requires professionalism, patience and care, often while managing busy roads and challenging situations.
This week also coincides with Bus Driver Appreciation Day on 18 March, which recognises the dedication and professionalism drivers demonstrate every day.
All drivers provide an essential public service, and the work they do makes a real difference to the community every day. We thank them for their professionalism and for keeping passengers moving safely.
Bus Safety Week is lead by Safe Transport Victoria and focuses on encouraging respectful behaviour from passengers while supporting drivers across the network.
