Darian Rd and Fischer St roundabout closure – 5th November to 19th December 2025

Public route and school bus detours

Due to intersection upgrades at Darian Rd and Fischer St, Torquay there will be closures at the roundabout.

Please see below for full details.

Traffic entering the roundabout from the west (Surf Coast Hwy) can enter the roundabout and travel in any direction.   The roundabout will be closed to traffic entering from any other direction.

Please see details below:

Route 53 will divert via Aquilla Ave, The Esplanade, Cowrie Rd back to Fischer St in both directions as shown by the orange line.

Route 54 will travel via The Esplanade, and divert at Cowrie Rd back to Fischer St in both directions as shown by the purple line.

During this time, Beach Rd (east) between The Esplanade and Fischer St will also be closed.

School bus detours will be managed separately on as needs basis, and will predominantly use the same detour routes: Aquilla Ave, Cowrie Rd as the public bus routes.
